Introduction
In 1985 Henk Meijer was the first non-Korean World Champion Sparring in the motherland of Taekwondo: Korea. This made him legendary in the Taekwondo world.
In 1988 he ended his active contest career by entering the 1988 Olympic Games in Seoul where Taekwondo was entered as a demonstration sport.
In the period of 1990 to 1994 he was the federation coach of the Dutch team and he appeared as Olympic coach at the Olympic Games of 2000 in Sydney, where the 1st official Olympic Taekwondo took place. He was also coaching the Dutch team on the Games of 2004 in Athens.
In 2006 he became the new Head Coach of the French Taekwondo Federation.
